There are many reasons that bleeding from the rectal area can occur and it's not always due to bleeding hemroids. With regards to your hemroids however, bleeding hemroids are the worst that can happen. But that does not mean that you have to treat yourself thinking that you have a hemroid that bleeds as soon as you find blood oozing from your anus.

Prior to taking any sort of hemroidal medications, one should consult a doctor. However, the counter drugs are not really safe and advisable. The best would be controlled dieting and healthy eating habits if you truly want your hemroids to be cured.

Why do bleeding hemroids occur?

Bleeding hemroids occur inside the anal tract most of the time. Therefore, they are known as bleeding internal hemroids in general. Excessive abrasion and strain in the anal tract are the causes and if not treated promptly, can get aggravated. The condition arises when the veins inside the anal tract get enlarged.

Now this enlarging of the veins occur due to the clotting of blood inside the blood vessel leading to a condition called the varicose veins. Hence, the veins bulge-up and swell in a dangerous manner.

It's necessary for these veins to get cut and damaged for bleeding to happen however. Everytime you go to the toilet, streaks of blood on your stool becomes noticeable. When you become aware of this condition, a prompt visit to the doctor is needed.

Usually, the bleeding also occurs due to some crack or fissure formation in the walls of your anus which is equal to these veins bursting externally. If your doctor fails to find any cracks or other external reasons for bleeding however, it's a good idea to get yourself examined for other causes of bleeding as it can also be due to organ damage.

Signs of bleeding hemroids

Obviously, bleeding and flowing of blood from the excretory tract indicate bleeding hemroids. The blood that will be coming out will be bright red in color and very fresh. If you see that the blood coming out is very dark in color then it is an indication of infection further up the anal canal. This is a sign that hemroids are not the cause of your bleeding.

Hemroid patients commonly bleed and can actually suffer from anemia if there is too much blood loss. Usually though, blood loss from hemroids is only minimal and these indications are already for extreme cases.

Whenever you notice bleeding from your anus, it would be a good move to check if it's is a bleeding hemroid and do what is necessary. Bleeding hemroids can best be avoided by adopting a healthy eating regimen and a good balanced diet.
